  • Another user suggested that a post of mine in the forums be marked as the answer.

    ...

I see that an earlier post was marked as the answer, but it really isn't. It was perhaps helpful, but it wasn't really the answer to the original question.

It evens out. Sometimes your post will get marked as answer when it really isn't, and sometimes vice versa. Sad to say, the moderators are usually at fault in these cases.

  • I agree, I have a few of my posts that were last replied by me solving the issues and awaiting to be marked as answered but users dont come back  (atleast new users)  to mark these as answered, moderator sometimes goes and mark those, but sometimes they miss.. there should be a community driven way to mark post as answered..

  • As David Wilkinson said "it evens out": a month after posting this I've had several responses marked as answers and have begun to accumulate some points!

  • I agree but i still feel there should be a community driven way of marking the post "answered" or "likely solution" too..

say for sake of it if 25 community members mark it as "likely solution" it becomes answered which obviously original asker can change..

  • Apparently you talk about it until someone notices.

    There. I noticed. =^)

I marked it as an answer.

    Thanks!
