Install Icon on Turn Off button

How do I get rid of the install icon on my Turn Off button on XP
Someone send me some info, but it was for Vista.
Every time I turn off puter, the little red icon for install upgrades is there.
Even after I have let it do the install a few times, still there..
SO how do I get rid of it ????????????
Please let me know if you have any ideas.
