Remote Access to Computers Problem

Question
-
Ok this is a good one; I have a client with 8 computers all XP Pro sp3, and a WHS. I cannot remotely connect to any of the computers on the network from the inside or outside. I can use RDP to connect to the server, but cannot connect from one workstation to the other. The web page does display the status of “Available for connection“. I have checked Allow users to connect remotely to this computer. If I am missing anything I will be watching this closely, and any help will be greatly appreciated.

- "This problem is not specific to any one graphics company. It can probably happen with printer drivers too.
The root of the problem is that the session image space is too small and it can't load any more drivers into it. The session image space is shared for the display driver drivers and printer drivers. rdpdd = remote desktop protocol display driver.
You can fix this bug by increasing the size of the session image space via a registry key. Add the following key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
"SessionImageSize"=dword:00000020
0x20 == 32 MB works on my system anyway."
After adding this to my registry, the issue went away. Good luck and thanks for all the help.

To be honest, considering you are unable to use RDC from one XP box to another inside your LAN, it's not a WHS issue. You should post your question in the XP forums. Having said that, I would try disabling your firewall and/or security suite you have on one of your XP computers, then try using RDC to connect to that computer.- Proposed as answer by kariya21Moderator Friday, October 9, 2009 2:17 AM
