CRM 4.0 high availability

Question
-
Hi,
our client is planning to deploy the crm environment on three servers: crm web, crm db, reporting.
Are there any best practices / architecture guidelines in order to make this set up high available?
(E.g. how much % of availability can be achieved, how should the fail over cluster be set up....)
Thanks in advance,
Jan

Hi Jan,
You can review the CRM 4.0 Implementation Guide.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1ceb5e01-de9f-48c0-8ce2-51633ebf4714&displaylang=en
Depends on the size of your implmentation, you can look into cluster databases, two front end servers... It's difficult to tell % of availability because it really depends the number of users that you going to have, your server specs, network connections, etc...
This is very high level and I hope it helps.

On a similar note, I have a question about planning MS-CRM for high availability. Can a server that houses the CRM app and the SQL Server DB on one box be clustered with another one that also has the CRM app and the SQL Server DB?Wednesday, August 5, 2009 10:24 AM
