Translation widget on auto when viewed in different browser language RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have many nationalities viewing our site some of them English but residing in other countries!

    A little advise please!

As I cannot see out site as if viewed from another country

Having the widget set to Auto translate and not displaying the widget seems nice and neat, but what happens if you are a native English reader visiting our site  from say France – without the widget being displayed is the an easy way to translate to English for them ????

What do they see using the Notify option ???

Any advice on the best options to use

  • Hello Martin,

you can simulate a foreign visitor easily by changing your browser accept-language setting. In Internet Explorer you find this under Tool.Options.Languages.

The notify option is the most respectful option: you notice that you have a foreign visitor, and you politely make available the option to translate, without making the decision for your visitor.
