what is wpcups.exe? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just installed the WDK into Windows 7 64 bit and found a desktop icon for wpcups.exe. I can't seem to find out anything about it using Google, Bing or MSDN search.

What is it and what does it do? When I try to run it, I get the "not a valid Win32 application" pop-up.

I have tried double click, "run as administrator" and command line execution: same result. Note: it is installed in C:\windows\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\V1.0.

Any help and guidance will be appreciated.

    RK

  • Something related to (old) Windows Phone. This thing is dead as nail, even Google does not remember what it was for.

  • Hello,

The Windows Desktop Perfmon and Diagnostic tools forum is to discuss performance monitor (perfmon), resource monitor (resmon), and task manager, focusing on HOW-TO, Errors/Problems, and usage scenarios.

As the question is off topic here, I am moving it to the Where is the Forum... forum.

  • Hello,

I'd ask in the Windows Hardware WDK and Driver Development forum.

  • This is a CMD line utility to test and send ip over usb connectivity. Its included with the the WDK. It will connect to IPoverUSB.exe and will  use RPC to talk to a Windows phone. It will drop a log file in your my documents folder that you may see also btw.
