Debugging Classic ASP in Visual Studio 2003 on Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am looking for a help to resolve the Classic ASP debugging issue in Visual Studio 2003 on Windows 7. Thanks in advance.

    We are trying move our application from XP to Windows 7 and want to ensure the activities we do in XP works in Windows 7 as well.

    Here are some details about the environment and settings which I made.

    -> Windows 7 Prof, 32 bit, Internet Explorer 8.0

    -> IIS 7.5

    -> In IIS, "Enable Client-Side debugging" and "Enable Server-Side debugging" are set to TRUE and similarly in the project, ASP debugging is set to TRUE.

    -> I am the membor of these groups. Administrators, Debugger Users.

    -> I have created a new group called "VS Developers", but not added myself to this group.

    -> Project is in DEBUG mode.

    I had a breakpoint in ASP page and while trying to run the project in DEBUGGING mode, I'm getting the following error

    "Unable to set server into correct debugging state automatically. You may not be able to debug ASP pages. Do you want to continue launching the debugger?"

    Followed by,

    "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. no symbols have been loaded for this document."

    I'm struggling with this issue for last 2 weeks. Please help me in getting this issue resolved. Thanks.
