Password - when I first got windows live I already had a hotmail address but I didn't realize that I could have used it

  I had a password for hotmail and when I got onto windows live it asked me for a new password so I gave it a new one thinking the password was different than the old hotmail address and now when I go to the forums with the Windows Live Password I get a Welcome Back message with my old hotmail address.  Is there anyway I can get my old hotmail address back. It is so much easier to remember.
