  • Completely rebuilding the server, i noticed that i build the virtual-box under server 2012 64bit environment. So restarting with 2008 64bit. hopefully this will remedy the problem other wise ill be back with more complaints.

  • In VirtualBox, make sure your network adapter configuration is set to bridged mode rather than NAT.

  • Correction Upnp is enable on Router and the server is receiving a Upnp registration.

  • Ok After running trouble shooter one thing stands out Netbios might not be supported by the router i have no way to determine this how ever, Would this be significant enough to prevent Connect from locating the server?

  • I missed the fact that you said your clients can connect to the shared folders on the server. That indicates that your VirtualBox networking config is basically sound.

Perhaps it's not a networking issue at all, and there is something wrong with your server.

From a local console session at the server, open IE and navigate to: http://127.0.0.1/Connect/   If your WHS IIS configuration is set up right, you should see a redirect page that says "Go to the computer you want to connect" with an address similar to http://127.0.0.1:65510/connect/Server.aspx   If you don't see this, then something might be wrong on the server side.
