  • Any other grids or views etc. will still display the plain text value and would have to be taken care of separately.

    In addition to the javascript, you will have to create a plugin that uses System.Security.Cryptography and some form of encryption algorithm. E.g. Rijndael

    You will also have to decrypt the password whenever you are retrieving it for authentication.

  • I don't know of a supported way to do this, although there may be a custom way to do it.

  • To do this for a field named "new_password" put the following in your form's OnLoad code:

    crmForm.all.new_password.style.display = "none";

    var pwd = document.createElement("<input type='password'>");
    pwd.value = crmForm.all.new_password.DataValue;
    crmForm.all.new_password_d.appendChild(pwd);
    pwd.onkeyup = function()
    {
        crmForm.all.new_password.DataValue = pwd.value;
    };

    You can comment out the first line of this code to make sure that this does what you want.

    Be aware that this will not really make it a password type field for the CRM. Any other grids or views etc. will still display the plain text value and would have to be taken care of separately.

    This forum software is the worst I've ever used. Worst. By far.
