Information Systems student looking to future in IT industry RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Community,

I am an undergrad in Information Systems. I have a passion for technology and its capacity for solutions. I want to help push the envelope of innovation and leadership in technology. Currently I'm working as a technical specialist and also my degree. After I obtain my bachelors I'm looking to start working on my MBA.

I wanted to reach out to the community and see if any of you guys (or gals), whom I have maximum respect for (TechNet always helps with troubleshooting), had any advice on training, certifications, degrees, the future of the industry, career paths, or any other words of wisdom, etc., based on your own experiences.

I appreciate any and all thoughts.

    Thank you.

  • Just my opinion:

If you want to build new innovations, then maybe you do not need any certifications. Then you need visions you could work on.

The certifications only show you the existing world. That way you can be a great administrator or maybe a great software developer who knows the current technology. But it is current technology developed by someone else ....

So work on the MBA. Maybe you can stay at university to work on some new ideas. Maybe as an MBA you can find a job, where you can develop something new (which is hard to find!) or maybe you have a good idea and build up your own company! Maybe you are the next Steve Jobs / Bill Gates? Who knows :)

    With kind regards,

    Konrad
