The most significant event that took place before all this happened was my main hard drive was going bad. In order to replace it, I had to clone the drive onto the replacement drive and then replaced the drive. This was done because the version of Windows was installed by Dell and I didn't have a media to reinstall; plus I wanted to maintain my recovery and diagnostic partitions.

Although the OS is activated, I fear I may not qualify for the Windows 10 upgrade. I have yet to receive the invite.

Please advise how I can overcome this annoying pop-up.

  • This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers

try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194

    (you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

  • Hi Noel,

I attempted to install the driver downloaded from the location you suggested, but upon reboot, the PC got stuck in the Windows Starting screen for over 30 mins. Resorted to hard reboot. Came up to the 'Start up Failed' screen and recommended a startup repair. This took a long while, then eventually failed. Proceeded to reboot and boot into last good configuration. This allowed me to boot into Windows again. Went looking for a Dell version of the Intel Rapid Storage software but was unable to locate one. I'm stuck right now.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

    Gopi...

  • Dell's support website appears to be down (at least for me) at present - I'll try again tomorrow.

They usually have them, although they are often 'rebadged'
