Issue with out of process ActiveX developed using VB6 RRS feed

  • Issue with out of process ActiveX developed using VB6

We have an out of process ActiveX or COM resides and registered in directory called

‘c:\ABC Group\ActiveX’. The ActiveX file name is ‘GetData.exe’ (c:\ABC Group\ActiveX\GetData.exe). I also have program file called ABC.exe in the root of directory C: (c:\ABC.exe).

When a client application instantiate the out of process ActiveX (GetData), the Windows operating system was trying to instantiate c:\ABC.exe.

When we remove or rename the ABC.exe file name then it instantiates the ActiveX correctly.

    It happens in Windows 2008R2 64bit, Windows 10 64bit.

  • Hi indy1234,

Here is the forum for developing Universal Windows apps which is irrelevant with VB6. It is out of our scope and we don't support it. As far as I know, vb6 do not have a msdn forum which can support it, you can use your favorite browser to search for the relevant VB6 forum.

    Best regards,

    Breeze
