File Permissions using roles RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone.

I created an application in windows forms that uses Identity Authentication to authenticate users upon login. Users have been assigned different roles e.g Level 1, Level 2, etc. The application uses the Role Id to create an asymmetric key which is letter used to encrypt a file. This works fine. Users on the same role if logged in can decrypt a document which was encrypted at that level and are able to open the document.

My problem comes when I want to have the level 4 role user to be able to decrypt or open a file encrypted at level 3 or level 2. How can I achieve this. Please advise or give me a direction to better achieve this.

The scenery is: High ranking Role should be able to decrypt and open lower ranking Roles' documents.

  • Hi Ronworld,

Thank you for posting on this forum.

I think you are posting on incorrect forum. This forum is to discuss WinForm Data control and binding. I will move this thread to where is the forum for forum because I don't know which forum is better for support. I hope someone could find the appropriate forum to provide effective response.
