Sync your Desktop RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I just figured out how to make your desktop sync. At least in vista and 7 where the mklink command exists/works.

Run the below command (you may need to right click command prompt and choose run as administrator before running it).

    mklink /D "%userprofile%\DesktopLink" "%userprofile%\Desktop"

In windows live sync or mesh setup a sync folder to the DesktopLink folder rather then your direct desktop folder. Sometimes after browsing to the link folder it changes to the Desktop folder. Just manually rename it.

Where I got information regarding mklink.

As of today your post has 84 views, so it is being read, but nobody has responded to thank you - yet. I don't have a use for this, but I'm sure that others do and will find it cool and helpful.
