Render to Video Question RRS feed

  • Question

  • Are there any plans to add an option to render a tour direct to video with audio (e.g. .wmv or .mpg).

My son, along with others at his school have used WWT to create space projects for their coursework. Showing the projects at school however was quite a challenge, so the ability to drop a video directly out of the software would have been be a huge benefit.

  • Currently we believe tours should be primarily sharer as tours, so people can pause,  explore on their own and otherwise use WWT. We do allow professional quality video frames to be outputted for video and full dome production.

We are considering adding video output support in the future, but still want to focus on tour sharing as our means of distribution of content.

  • It would be great if we could get this feature in save as option so that the user can save the tour in .wmv or .mpeg format with ease.

Now we can create such video only using Microsoft Encoder 4. User guide which comes with the wwt installation has an easy explanation on how to use Microsoft Encoder to record a tour as a high quality video. The section title is "Using Expression Encoder to Record a Tour".
