  • I can't see how to remove or disable Advanced Find Entirely, but you can modify user roles so that users cannot save custom views. This will make it implossible for users to save custom searches, making Advanced Find a lot less convenient.

    1. Go to Settings|Administration|Security Roles
    2. Choose the Role you want to modify
    3. On the Core Recods Tab, Disable the "Saved View" Entity

Also you can disable the "Export to Excel" privilege underneath the Miscellaneous Priviledge section of the Business Management Tab.

Finally, if you want to disable Advanced Find for a particular entity, remove the "Searchable" criteria from each attribute in the entity and publish your changes.  Users will still see the entity in the Advanced Find List, but will not be able to search.

    Regards

  • Hi,

Just curious why you want to turn off advanced find functionality. Advanced Find is one of the main features in CRM, turning it off is not recommended and also it's not easy to remove it from all places within CRM. Data in CRM is controlled by security role, the users only able to see the records they have access to. So this applies to Advanced Find as well. The users run a search, CRM only returns the records the user have access to them.

    Hope this helps!

  • The reason I want to turn off the Advanced find is that we've got quite a few custom entities which is organization owned. Those are to be cosidered quite sensitive information and it is imported from other data source. We set those entity not show anywhere at the navigation area. We want the use to be able to access those information only under certain condition which is they enter search criteria and find exact match then provide the access to that particular record. We want to avoid the full access of organization owned data. But it seems through advanced find the user can almost access everything.

Also I've find anther protential security risk is that the JeweButton. Under the more menu, use can create organization owned entity record. Which looks like a hugh security risk to me.

    Hope it make sense.

    Thanks
