reinstall and cleanup problems

Question
-
I had a few problems with onecare, so I tried to do the uninstall then reinstall, during the uninstall my computer froze then restarted on it's own, I thought that it was just a normal reboot but it wasn't, when I logged back on I tried to reinstall onecare and I got an error message that said "only one copy of onecare can be running at a time" so I looked at the programs list and there was nothing so I looked in the programs file and there it was, now I cannot remove that file using the onecare clean up tool and cannot reinstall onecare. without reintalling my entire OS, what can I do?
thank you in advance to whomever responds to this thread.Saturday, December 29, 2007 3:54 AM

That sounds like a success story for backup. I'm glad you were able to recover everything.

Thanks for your help and reply, I have solved the problem, luckily I was able to use the onecare backup tool before the big crash, so I just reinstalled the whole xp os, which was also starting to become corrupt. everything is much better now.
