  • Hello McWeepeR,

Your XP has it's Time/Date/Year set incorrectly. Please correct the setting (Often times the month, day, and time are correct but the year is off).

Once you have the correct time date and year, reboot and then go to http://microsoft.com/genuine/diag and click the Start Diagnostic button.  Once you have the Diagnostic page showing all green check marks, click the Validate Windows button.

NOTE: It is unlikely that your XP will validate as Genuine.  The reason I say this is:

    a) The Product Key is a Volume License Key (VLK).  VLKs are not sold to the general public.  They are sold to larg Organizations who have a Volume License Agreement with Microsoft.  So if you did not get this key from your company or some other Organization you belong to, then it is a Leaked Key and is (or will be) marked as Non-Genuine.

    b) if you do a search of the internet for the last 15 digits of the Product Key being used in your XP (*****-*****-D2R7C-PBP3Y-B4G7M), you will find over 10 pages of sites that list that Product Key.  Even if XP validates as Genuine now, it will eventually go Non-Genuine once Microsoft's Product Key group notices how widely the key has leaked on the internet.

    Thank you,
    Darin MS
