cannot sign in to MS money 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Problem Description: Installed Microsoft Money 2007 Premium yesterday after having to replace our PC hard drive. After installing and updating the software, I find I need to sign in with a Windows Live ID. I then created an Hotmail email address:  Now I try to enter that information to the Microsoft sign in page, but it tells me it was unable to verify my sign in information, and want me to go online and reenter my sign in information. Please help.
    Operating System: Windows XP

  • Is that during the install process, or are you are trying to open an existing Money file. If you don't have the right login credentials, you may be out of luck.

It is also posible that the *.mny file is damaged, and that your newest or second-newest *.mbf (Money Backup File) may be what you need to get going.

See if you can copy Sample.mny from the install folder, and see if you can open that.

I suggest that you consider installing the Microsooft Money  Sunset version and using that. Your Money 2007 would be expired for online access anyway.

  • I am a little confused. Are you trying to create a new file, open an existing file or restore from back up?

Did you not have a Live ID attached to the original file? Why did you create a new Live ID if you were trying to opening an existing file? Have you tried opening the file offline?
