Forum Performance Horrible -- Effectively Unusable

Question

Widnows 7 Ultimate x64 With All Patches
Internet Explorer 8 (Please note that (1) IE8 is still offically supported by Microsoft and (2) IE9/10's combined address/search box -- besides make searching much less efficient -- introduces unacceptable security problems.)It takes almost a minute to refresh. I constantly get a popup box:
---------------------------
Windows Internet Explorer

Stop running this script?A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer might become
unresponsive.
---------------------------
Yes No
---------------------------The filter checkboxes on the left side are just about unuseable. Cllick on one and wait two minutes. Try to uncheck one and check another and wait five minutes.
Is there anyway to use these forums or do I have to use one of the third party forums to ask and answer questions?

It would be interesting to compare your performance on the same computer using Firefox, or another browser.
Pick a thread which has over 100 messages in it and see if being logged in makes a difference when you try opening it.

If you must use IE it seems to be faster to not be logged in but then you lose most of the new usability features, unless you clone them in your Favorites Bar.

Perhaps you should uninstall IE9 and reinstall IE8 and see if you experience the same delays.
