Visual C++ forum spam

Question
-
Could a moderator go to the Visual C++ forum:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=vcgeneral
and delete the recent "escorts" spam (muliple posts), and if possible block the poster.
Thanks.

Hi Wayne,
The spam reporting threads are gone now, try this method:
Don't retire TechNet! - (Maybe there's still a chance for hope, over 12,225+ strong and growing)

In the past (recently but before the post Mike linked was written) when I found bunches of spam, by the time I had marked about 4 of the threads a spam, I got errors because the threads were being deleted. Several times it was as if some actual person was immediately alerted by the first thread I marked, saw all of the spam, and started work. I have to admit this new system seems to work.
I still try to mark at least several of the posts.
Ok, they still have kinks in the system. When I checked the C++ forum the spam threads still appear. However when I view the user profile, it has been emptied. I believe the user has been banned and the threads deleted (sort of), but they still show up in the forum. I reported this before and it was acknowledged as a bug they are investigating.

Thanks for the quick reply. The problem with that procedure is it appears to request that
each and every spam post be reported. It's the nature of spam - including this particular
case - to flood a forum with garbage posts. Reading and marking each one as spam is time
consuming and aggravating.
If I mark one post as spam (already done before I posted here), will a mod check the
forum and delete all similar posts?

I would hope so, but I can't say for sure. Supposedly using that method is somehow notifying the forums team that something needs to be cleaned up.

So I see.

OK. It seems to be getting the attention it deserves then.
Thanks for the clarification.
