Hello ahfei,
The issue, that you are seeing, is not directly related to the Product Keys, themselves. The core issue is that one or more of Vista's Licensing files is being tampered or becoming corrupt and some of the Licensing Data is lost or is unreadable. The end result is that Vista will ask you to re-enter the Product Key, so that it can regenerate those bad Licensing files.
This issue is rare (I've only seen it a few times) But, while it can be annoying, compared to other issues I have seen, this isn't too serious.
Unfortunatly, since this issue is so rare, we have not pinpointed what the direct cause is. We believe it may be caused by an out-dated (pre-Vista) Driver that randomly experiences an error of some kind or maybe a program that, for whatever reason, attempts to access a Licensing file, but does it impoperly and ends up corrupting it. While I can't be sure if these guesses are, in fact, the true cause, it can't hurt for you to a) confirm that you have the most up-to-date drivers, being used in Vista and b) if/when this happens again, take a look at the programs that were running at the time the issue occured and see if there are any patched or updates for those programs, that may fix the problem.
Your two other options would be to go to http://support.microsoft.com for additional Vista support or reinstalling Vista.
Very sorry I couldn't be more help,

No, even though Office was installed using an Invalid Volume License Key (VLKs are only sold to companies that have large number of installs to manage) just being non-genuine should not cause this type of issue. However, if the Office software was obtained thru a non-reputable source (example: as a free downloaded over the internet) the person that supplied it may have pre-installed some Trojans or other types of Malware that may be causing the issue.
