My computer restarts when I tell it to shutdown? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I think I found the reason this is happening, but I don't know how to solve it.  On July 17, my computer restarted when it was supposed to shut down.  Ever since then, it has done this at a weird pace.  Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.  I think it is because of my Realtek PCIe GBE family controller.  The reason is because in the system logs, it has a warning that says it has disconnected.  In the next log thing, it seems to load up all my start up things, l my nvdia surround, plug and play, and virus protection.  Its also a time difference of around 8 seconds only.  It does have a option that says the device can wake the computer in device manager.  Should I un-check that?  If someone thinks they have the solution I would really appreciate it.  By the way, my internet is working fine on the computer, and so is everything else.
