  • No i have never had the machine for repair, its just the way i bougth it. But i did update the bios for few months ago.

It maybe that that's caused your problem - either revert back to the original BIOS if possible, or contact the manufacturer to see if they have a Win7-compliant update for it.

  • Or just change out the Product key for the one listed on the CoA sticker on the side or bottom of the PC. That is what it is there for, as a backup key for just such situations.

    Thank you,

Your Packard Bell machine appears to have had Win 7 installed from an NEC computer Recovery disk set - but using an Acer OEM_SLP key. Although the machine has a BIOS late enough to be Win7-compliant, it appears only to have markers for Vista, so a Win7  OEM_SLP key may not work. As a result, the machine is thoroughly confused.
You need to reinstall with the proper recovery disk set for your machine, or change the Product Key in use to the one on your COA sticker (assuming it is for Win 7 Home Premium).

The BIOS is dated March of this year - so if you've updated it, that may be the cause of the OS mismatch, if you got a version for Vista rather than for Win 7. Unfortunately the Packard-Bell site is almost impossible to find your way around without all the details of the model number, etc. so  can't see if this could be the case.
As far as the apparent NEC problem is concerned, Have you had the machine in for repair at all? it's always possible that the person who did the job attempted to reinstall, and botched the job by using an inappropriate disk set from a similar machine.
