Mediation Server - Routing RRS feed

  • Question

  • We currently run OCS with a single Mediation Server that is plugged into a media gateway with a few analog lines.

We would like to test out Sip Trunking service with a local provider and have it running parallel to our existing production environment.  We have built a second Mediation Service for this purpose.  How do we separate traffic in terms of routing making sure calls that come into the Sip Trunk are handled the same way?  We also have extensions with our existing setup where as we would be using DID's with the Sip service.

    Thanks.

  • Yes sort of ...
You cannot add users to a route, you can add only Phone Usages to a route
So link the correct Phone Usage to a Route and Policy and apply the correct Policy to the users that need to use the route

  • Depending on your requirements you can create a second route and only have certain users be able to use the route
Then you must create new Phone Usages, Policies and routes and link to the correct users

Do you know which users must dial over which route?
Incomming calls should be handled the same way without any additional config

  • Yes we know which users to move over to the new route.

So adding a new route and assigning it to the user is all we need?
