Can a Windows HPC Cluster use Managed Disks in Azure? RRS feed

  • Question

  • To Developers,

When I deploy an HPC Pack Cluster to Azure I am not able to add managed disks to the head or compute node nor default the data disks to be managed.   "Managed" in Azure provides the disks as a service and the end-user does not have to deal with the lower level aspects of storage.

Is this a limitation with HPC?

    Thanks,

    Marc

  • Hi Marc,

We had updated the HPC Pack 2016 cluster deployment template to use managed disk, see below:

For HPC Pack 2012 R2 cluster deployment template, we haven't migrate to managed disk yet.
