Where is the icon indicating the discovery of a bug ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

It seems to me that in an older forums version, it was possible to add to a thread that a bug has been discovered in a MS Product and validated by MS Support ( thru connect ).
Am i wrong or is this feature has disapeared ?

    Thanks beforehand

    Have a nice day

PS : i have not found the meaning of the field called "Path:" at the bottom of a reply , is it possible to have an explanation ?
Apart Path: and the impossibility to change the size of the font, the new release is all good

  • We originally looked at a bug type, but Connect integration has eternally been on our backlog list. It just keeps getting bumped by other priorities and, at this point, I don't know if it will ever be added.

  • I believe that was an experiment, the Visual Basic forums were one of the forum categories that joined.  Afaik, that experiment was closed a while ago without followup.

  • Hello nobugz,

Please, could you have a look on this very old link ? ( before the move of last December 2008 )
    http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/languages/en-US/docs/faq.aspx?SiteID=1#58
in the part What do the thread icons mean ?
you will find icons like Resolved Customer bug or Resolved Product suggestion

If my memory is good ( and no reproach for you ), the forums where you post have moved in June last year, and i remember that i have seen these icons in the .Net Framework and SQL Server Forums last year ( 6 months ago it is so a long time...)

Anyway, thank you for your quick answer ( less a hour after i posted... nice)

    Have a nice day

PS : with my poor english, i am not sure that my answer is clear but i am not teasing/joking you ( i remember always that my 1st points , i got them thru the use of answers )

  • Hello nobugz,

Have you any idea about the reasons of this disappearance ? ( it was useful according to me : a way to know the discovered bugs which will be corrected by MS )

  • Not really, I suspect it has something to do with lack of support in the V3 forum software version.  Or it was just abandoned.  Why don't you unmark the answer so Rob sees it and can respond.

  • Hello,

For nobugz, if rob (robjoh ) wants to post, he may ( no he must as his advice would be very interesting ). I remember that at least twice, in the same thread, i marked as answer 2 posts because they gave full information and permitted to correct another problem.

for mattfras, thanks for the information about robjoh and tell him that i am sure that his/her post will be at least helpful. You are so patient with ( especially when i post an evident question that i can't unmark your post

    Have all a nice day
