  • Question

  • My old HP laptop died and I have a new Toshiba laptop computer. How do I transfer OneCare to my new computer. My subscription on the old laptop is good through September.

    Thank you,

  • Simply install OneCare on the new PC from http://onecare.live.com (trial download) and then click subscribe, signing in with the LiveID for your subscription.

On the first PC, open OneCare and click Help and then About to see your Subscription ID. That is the LiveID to sign in with.

If you don't recall the LiveID you used for your subscription, you will need to contact support who can provide that information to you using your Key and/or contact information.

How to reach support (FAQ) - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/30400b52-7f26-4ba0-bc18-17e305329d90

Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate with.

You don't need to remove the old PC from your subscription, but you can simply remove it from the PC - How to Uninstall Windows Live OneCare - which will also remove it from your subscription.
