Having thumbnails of photos when accessing remotely. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Forgive me if this has been sugested already, as I couldn't find it.

One thing that I would love, is that when remotely accessing the WHS stores, that in the Photo share, it would give thumbnails of the pictures so that way you don't have to download the pictures to find the one that you are looking for. Most of the time, I wind up going in and using Remote Desktop to one of my PCs and browse the WHS shares to find the picture and then download it from the WHS files page.

  • Ted,

This is already available. Have a read through the 'Developers' section and specifically the 'Whiist' threads.

They will lead you to the appropriate steps to take - very straightforward.

  • Colin,

Thanks for the info. I already have Whiist running on my WHS and while it is ok for having a web based "Photo album", I have had problems with it on the large numbers of files that I have in my photo colection. Also, with the idea of the thumbnail display, I was looking for smaller images than Whiist was providing and to have it with the current shared folder web interface so it would be easier for my wife.
