I could not receive updates from Microsoft because the Network policy was not set to permit this action. According to instructions provided by Microsoft, I must log on as administrator, and run gpedit from Start->Run menu to change the system's network policy.
Unfortunately, I was unable to access the administrator functions on my own PC. As this is my home PC, I did not see the need to set up password access. When I installed Norton 360 on my PC a few years ago, the system blocked me out from all administrator's functions on the PC. Now, I have replaced Norton 360 with One Care, but I am still unable to access the administrator's functions.
Is there anything that I could do to re-enter the administrator functions?Thank you for your kind assistance!
I've moved your post to the Tune-up topic as this is what part of OneCare monitors the status of Windows Updates.
