Windows 7 Activated But Not Genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello.  I work for a Point-of-Sale company supporting grocery stores and one of our customers seemingly out of the blue experienced this issue.  They've been installed and working fine for quite some time, but as of about a week ago have noticed Windows telling them they need to validate.  It will not validate with the online process and suggests we purchase a genuine version of Windows 7, it would not activate over the phone (though it's already activated) and it accepts the product key to activate but still will not validate.

Below is the mgadiag I ran on it the other day.  It looks awfully similar to the issue involving the Intel Rapid Storage drivers, but I downloaded and installed those and rebooted twice as suggested.  The mgadiag did not change.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

  • When did it last install Updates? December?

If KB3004394 is installed, uninstall it, and reboot twice.

Do a Check for Updates, and install the new version of KB3004394, and any other updates.

reboot again, and run a new MGADiag report, and post it.

  • Noel,

I just deleted that update, rebooted once, and tried the Windows Validation process again and it worked just fine.  Ran MGAdiag and it looks much better.  Thanks!
