Retrieve data encryption key after system failure? RRS feed

  • Hi,

    Is anyone aware of a way to retrieve the data encryption key in Dynamics CRM 2013 after it has been cleared out due to a system failure? I am working with a client that has recently had a system failure and did not have their key recorded. Now they would like to reestablish their data encryption in their restored instance. Is there anyway to retrieve this information for them?

    Additionally, if there is not a way to retrieve the previous key, could we just create a new key and reactivate data encryption and they can pick right up where they left off?
