windows 7 build 7601 not genuine?? YES IT IS AND HAS BEEN FOR A YEAR!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I installed windows 7 ulitimate a year ago, and also installed the windows genuine product checker at the same time just so it can make sure the softwares are all OK and genuine which they were and remain so. Yesterday, Feb 13th, suddenly and without updates, my window went to black and the message appeared in the corner stating WINDOWS 7 BUILD 7601 This copy of Windows is not Genuine..

I have today updated my Nortons and run a scan etc, but all seems well except for the message and my screensaver being black. I have no updates made sine Jan 18th and my updates are all up to date..  If I wanted to remove the message on a pirated version, there are dozens of options to get rid of the message, however,, I have done everything by the book and remained genuine despite the cost.

Is there anyway of getting rid of this please, I don't want to try and do something that would make things worse. Microsoft have done it again it seems, irritated someone to the point of asking why bother buying genuine!!  Help Please...

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
      - **in your own thread**, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine, but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

  • Thank you very much for the speedy response.

On the coa sticker it states;  bts - 2715006-msin, win uk 7 row dvd.  There are several over number and letters but these seem to be related to bar codes etc.

I would be extremely grateful for your help, up until yesterday it worked perfectly and passed the genuine validation process upon installation. Without updates etc, it now states it's no longer genuine..

  • Unfortunately, your purchase was of a counterfeit copy of Windows....

Your Windows Key is from a not-for-resale MSDN
account. Activation has been enabled by an Activation Exploit (Loader)
simulating an ACER CLIC table in the BIOS. You need to claim an immediate refund
from the vendor - do NOT accept the offer of a new key.(all they are trying to
do is to get past the 45-day claims window. or avoid you sending the evidence of
    their crimes to the authorities)

    Please read the following stickies....

The pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few
years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as
factories open in less well-policed countries.
