WHS Vail Release Candidate Connector RRS feed

  • Question

  • I downloaded the WHS Release candidate, but there was no connector to download. Should we assume Vail connector has not changed and we can use the old vail connector?

I had problems with the old one. For example I could never uninstall it.

    Thanks

No, don't use the old connector. Instead, from your client (desktop or laptop) computer, open Internet Explorer and type: http://homeserver/connect and follow the instructions from there. You will be asked the regular download question, "Save or Run". Choose Run and you're good to go.

Actually, its http://server/connect by default.  And if you change the name of your server, type whatever you have named your server before connect.

Oops! Thanks, D.W.! What I should have said is: where "server" is the name you gave your server when you set it up.

  • He/she will still have a problem if the original connector can't be removed as stated above.

Generally, the new Connector will ask to uninstall the old connector. It's worked every time for me.
