Code Block get messed up after editing post RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created post that includes XML "Code Block" (Preformated text) after that i edited this post and added a few lines before code block and saved the changes.
    After this new lines we added almost after each word of my code block text

    Here is the result of edition post with XML code block:

                 <

    identity

    >

    <servicePrincipalName value="" />
    < dns value = " myhost.dyndns.org " />
    <rsa value="" />
    </ identity >

  • Hi,

    We have fixed a couple of bugs for the code block editor for our upcoming May release. This includes:

    - Inserting and Editing Hyperlinks
    - Editing a post with code block inserts extra lines in between
    - Formatting for code block is lost when replying to the root thread. (Subsequent replies work though)

  • Excellent!

    I've been bothered by this kind of problems for a while but haven't quite been able to pinpoint why and when the code formatting disappears or not. Replying to root thread sounds like a probable cause.
    I noticed that editing the message after posting it fixed the formatting but that also introduced those extra line breaks that were very annoying to fix if the code block was long.
    I'm really looking forward to these fixes.
    When is the May release scheduled to go live?

  • We've had bug regressions on this because of the new MSDN redesign. We some of these bugs active and we're looking into it.

    Thanks for reporting.
