Enterprise Global versus Local Global

Question
-
In versions previous to 2010 the Tools > Options default settings where stored in the Local Global.mpt. When creating a new file, this file would inherit the default settings of Tools>Option settings from the Local Global.mpt.
However, in 2010 it seems that we can check-out the Enterprise Global, and standardize on some of these options in MS Project Pro by selecting to apply them to 'Enterprise Global' from the drop down. Our environment at the moment is a bit peculiar (running under Cytrix) so I can not tell if Enterprise Global holds these values or not. Can someone confirm to me if I set options up and apply them to the 'Enterprise Global' will they be applied or is it still only through the Local Global.mpt that these settings can be defaulted to?

I am not aware of any change in this functionality. My guess is that youcan apply the changes to eGlobal, but they won't "take" when you open a newproject. My practice has been to always ensure the settings are consistentin the Global.mpt file and on each of the template files.

Hi,
my experience is the same working with Project client.
One additional observation: if you create a new project from Project Web App without an EPT specific template, e.g. using Basic Project Plan, the settings of eGlobal will be applied to this new project.Regards
