updating homeserver hostname RRS feed

  • i have a hostname setup on my homeserver (xxx.homeserver.com) my server has been AWOL for awhile now. i still need my hostname for other remote apps, but i need to know how to manually update the hostname to match my current IP till i can get my server up again. when i do a nslookup it shows an old IP. any help??

  • Hi,

    you can only do this with another home server, since there is no other way to register the dynamic DNS records for WHS.

    The other option would be to use a dyndns account outside of the homeserver.com domain (i.e. dyndns.org), which would also be supported in many routers.
