Global Settings Migration error(?) during OCS 2007 R2 Upgrade RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm uprading my current OCS 2007 installation to 2007 R2. I've started with moving the global settings using the OCS migration tool. I'm currently on Step 4 - Update DN References to the Global Settingss Tree. After running the command:

    cscript MigrateOcsGlobalSettings.vbs /Action: MigrateServerDnReferences /SearchBaseDN:<server search base DN>

I receive the following with an "error" at the end (in bold):

Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.6
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1996-2001. All rights reserved.

    Forest Root Domain: eidos.com
    Root Domain DC: sfodmc03.eidos.com
    Forest GC: sfodmc03.eidos.com
    System Global Settings ADsPath: CN=Microsoft,CN=System,DC=eidos,DC=com
    Configuration Services ADsPath: CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=eidos,DC=com
    Schema Major Version: 1007

Update server DN references to Global Settings objects

    Update FrontEnd msRTCSIP-PoolAddress DN references
D:\MigrateOCS\MigrateOcsGlobalSettings.vbs(1183, 5) Provider: Table does not exist.

What "Table" is it referencing? Is this an error or a warning? Did the DN References update complete?

When I check the Configuration container in AD, it shows the Global settings have been replicated. I don't know whether to continue on with the next step: Update msRTCSIP-PrimaryHomeServer DN References if the previous step has not yet completed properly.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

  • I think that's the problem, try using /SearchBaseDN:DC=eidos,DC=com

    Thanks

  • You must do the migration before the R2 upgrade.
After you install R2 you cannot use this tool anymore!

  • I haven't started the actual upgrade to R2 yet. I'm still in the preparation phase which includes migrating the global settings. I right in the middle of Step #4 of the migration process and the above is what I'm asking for assistance with.

  • Just to be sure, you had no problems when you ran the Forest Prep on Step 3?  Also what SearchBaseDN did you put in to run for step 4?

    Thanks

  • Yes, Forest Prep ran successfully. I used my domain name for the SearchBaseDN - eidos.com. Is that the correct syntax?

    Thanks.
