lost windows xp and vista

  hi i downloded vista home premium but clicked on vista home basic by mistake, the activation code wont work as it is premium code not basic . so all my windows have gone disappeared ,the start button has gone and my desktop.i have been in touch with acer but they said contact ms,i have done this but no reply as today.i have a black screen and a message in the bottom right screen saying this is not genuine windows xp ,it is .please help me i am 63 years old g,granny so please be quick but gentle lol
