Integration with website RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone!

I am managing an integration project of our CRM 2013 and newly build website and I would like to ask for your opinion on how difficult the process is.

    My objectives are:

    - one way generation of leads from website to CRM
    - Exporting Accounts from CRM to website
    - creating new Contacts in CRM through website, matching them to exported Accounts, and managing them in CRM (e.g. activating/deactivating access to extranet)

I received an estimation from a CRM company that did implementation for us. They say that they need 11 days for one person to do the integration for us. Is the integration really that time consuming?

    Thank you!

  • It can be time consuming, but it really depends on your requirements.  Linking to the CRM web service from a web site is not terribly difficult, most of the time will probably be spent setting up error checking, etc.  Also, if the web site users need to be authenticated before you let them export data, create new data, etc., that can take some time to develop and test.

So, the short answer is no, it's not too difficult.  The long answer is...it depends.  :)
