CRM 2011: Workflow/Process does not trigger RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

My Silverlight application creates a new contact record in CRM. And I have created a Process (workflow) which should send a welcome email to the Contact newly created.

The application seems to correctly create the Contact record. But the workflow is not triggered. I have cross verified the workflow by creating a new contact manually. But in case where contact is created by Silverlight Apps then the WF is not triggered. Also I was not able to find a system job in "Workflow Job Associated View".

    Am I missing something silly?

    Thanks & Regards,

  • If the contact is being created from Silverlight using CRM SDK, there is no reason the workflow should not fire. The only reason it could not be firing would be because of the scope of the workflow.

Make sure you change the scope to Organization so the workflow is available to all users in the organization and is fired irrespective of the user that created the contact.
