I have a full version, OEM, Office XP disk I bought as a student from a university (student software purchase). Recently, a small portion of the silver reflective holographic material tore off. So now you can see right through a small portion of the disk near the center. An of course, no CD-ROM, DVD+RW, etc. drive will read it.
Was the data on the silver coating? I'm thinking because it's OEM from a university, that damaged disk cannot be replaced. Yes?
But, since I have a valid product key, can I not just get someone elses good full version disk and use my valid key?
I'd hate to see it go to waste due to my neglect. Thanks.
