USB stick help RRS feed

  • I copied all my files that I wanted to keep before I formatted my laptop...

    Some of the files I was able to copy & others it won't let me...It keeps coming up with this error -

     

    The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect

     

    I need some help desperately

  • The normal way to fix a disk is to run chkdsk on it. However this may
    destroy some or all of your data. Can you be more specific about your
    problem.
     
    Click Start - All Programs - Accessories - Right click
    Command Prompt and choose Run As Administrator. Type
     
    for /r "e:\" %A in (*.*) do copy "%A" Nul
     
    NB: Above assumes your USB stick is E:\drive. Change E:\ to whatever your
    drive is. What happens.
