If I build a server, does it affect my download speed? RRS feed

  • I don't really understand what a server is... I believe it's a remote storage unit basically but I'm not sure, and I was wondering if I built one, does it change my internet download speed?

  • Windows Home Server provides the following key services:

    • Data storage for individual users
    • Complete regular backups of all your client machines on your network
    • Central storage of your media with straming to compatible devices.

    It has no impact on your internet download speed. I think you need to do some more background reading: Start here:
