Importing data and exporting failures RRS feed

  • Hi,

    When we Import Data into Dynamics CRM 2011 on premises, we may get failures.

    We can choose to Export Error Rows such failures as in the image below. But the problem is that the file exported does not give the reason for the failure as in the column headed "Description" in the image below.

    Can anyone please advise?

    As I know the error 'The lookup reference could not be resolved' could be because of the record you are importing doesn't have the Parent record/lookup reference.

    Ex. If you are importing contacts , then company name is a lookup of accounts you imported, so the contacts for which you tried importing should have the account already existing in CRM else the above error occurs.

    Sometimes  also as got 'Duplicate detected' , when there are duplicate records tried imported.

  • Thanks Rekha. But I do understand the error. It's rather that when I choose to Export Error Rows I want the file that is created to contain that Description.
