  • The update was not installed when you ran the report - or we wouldn't have got the following errors..

    File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\watadminsvc.exe[Hr = 0x80070003]
    File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\npwatweb.dll[Hr = 0x80070003]
    File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\watux.exe[Hr = 0x80070003]
    File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\watweb.dll[Hr = 0x80070003]

It had been installed prior to that, however, since there is data in the WAT section.

The only thing that may account for the errors otherwise is if the C:\Windows\system32\wat folder had been deleted, (but I would have expected different errors in that case)

    Let's try uninstalling/reinstalling it...

    Close all open windows.

Open an Elevated Command Prompt window, and type the following command

    wusa /uninstall /kb:971033

    and hit the Enter key

Accept the warnings/confirmations, and wait for it to complete

copy and paste the output (if any) from the command prompt window to a reply here,

    Reboot

    reinstall the update from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033

    Reboot

run another MGADiag report, and post it.

  • Verifies perfect until I install updates. Hard to limit it down due to 150+ updates at once. I have original case and sticker for authorization if need be. Thanks in advance!

  • You're using an ancient version of MGADiag that doesn't even support Vista, let alone Windows 7

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool

(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

     Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.

To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.x

      - in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

  • Please first try recreating Licensing Store.

    Recreate the Licensing Store

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories

Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt

Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the end of each

    net stop sppsvc

(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)

    CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

    REN tokens.dat tokens.bar

    net start sppsvc

    slui.exe

After a couple of seconds the Windows Activation dialog will appear.

You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key, or Activation may occur automatically.

If you are asked for your Key, use the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case

Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report.

(Note: the Line 'CD %win......\SoftwareProtectionPlatform' is all on one line - it may be broken in the Forum listing)

  • Please install the WAT update KB971033 and post a new MGADiag report - the error message here is extremely rare, and I'd like to see what the WAT tool has to make of it (you can always uninstall it later if necessary)

  • That update was installed prior to the previous report. I'm looking at my installed updates section. I don't think it was installed on the original MGADiag report however. I just reformatted again so now all my updates are current. I download all primary updates from windows for the most part. But to be honest, I really don't mind trying to figure things out on my own but we're just playing tag.. Is there a way I can submit my old CD in the windows and pay for a new one at a discounted price? Or maybe we can possibly setup a time you can check this out via Skype or something?

  • The update was not installed when you ran the report - or we wouldn't have got the following errors..

    File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\watadminsvc.exe[Hr = 0x80070003]
