A scan with the free Windows Live Care Safety Scanner found and "corrected" 9500 registry errors in an out of the box Windows Vista. This scan is not ready for prime time. Should Windows Vista be scanned at all? Hopefully system restore will put the computer back in good working order. Any comments?
You're on the subscription OneCare forums. The free OneCare Safety Scanner is supported here: http://boards.live.com/safetyboards/forum.aspx?ForumID=13 However, no 64-bit versions of the Safety Scanner were ever developed. It is risky to use Registry Cleaner's in general and particularly dangerous on an Operating System on which a cleaner has never been certified. http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099
