Report & Statistics RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to create a report that does the following:

    - List the number of accounts in each state (ideally also a percentage)
    - A drill-down function for each state to look at what accounts are in that state
    - A bar chart that shows the number of accounts for each state

Both in CRM 4 and 2011 I can create a list of states with the accounts listed underneath but I don't get the number of account (like 10) and a percentage (like 0.5%) and the accounts are already expanded rather than only visible after drilling down. Can this be done with the report wizard or do I need to program this?

  • CRM 2011 wizard can show you that information in multiple reports but if you want all this information in one report with flexibility of showing your desired information like percentages than you should go for SSRS Report writing.

In CRM 4, you will need to write this report.

  • Thanks for the response. You said it can be done in multiple reports in 2011. How? I did go through the report wizard (CRM 2011 Online) but it is the same as CRM 4. The only way I see this can be done is by exporting the report to rdl, get it into Visual Studio, add some queries to get the count (accounts per state) and then reimport it. Is there another way to do this in CRM 2011?

  • Yes, you can download the shared datasource from the server to use in a report project in SSRS (BIDS) and then you can write queries against the filtered views.
