Unable to activate WGA Kit - Win XP Pro RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Due to hardwarechanges I needed to reinstall Windows XP Pro. And now I'm hitting the wall as I'm unable to activate it. And by phone, well, the guys have left the office :)

I bought a 'Windows Genuine Advantage Kit for Windows XP Pro'; januari this year using the Microsoft website, and at the time it activated without a single problem. But now, when I try to activate, it gives an 'windows xp - online activation cannot be completed at this time.' message, with number 45131.

The CD is with hologram; states 'For Windows Genuine Advantage Kit' 'Includes SP2' and version 2002.

The Product key was generated and printed out, so the COA doesn't contain any of this. It just says stuff like 'B7P-00008' Windows XPPRO Genuine Adv English Intl Direct CD No Key'.

The details from MGA Diagnostic tool:

Or, click the Windows Activation icon in the taskbar notification area next to the clock.

    2.

Click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows now.

    3.

Click Read the Windows Product Activation Privacy Statement, click Back, and then click Next.

    4.

Follow the steps in the “Activate Windows by phone” dialog box, and then click Next.

Note The number appears now and differs based on the location that you select.

  • The only way We can help you is if you call the Microsoft Activation Center, during business hours. Demand to speak with an agent, and tell him/her your problem.
